Response to COVID
Greetings everyone, we are super excited about you joining us for the 2021 Labor Day Singles and Leaders Retreat. Your safety is essential to us. We are following the NC Guidelines as well as Bonclarken Conference Center's safety measures regarding COVID.
We have also gone above & beyond the required safety measures by:
Before joining us, we need you to do something to help everyone be safe:
When you arrive on our campus, you will see signs directing you to the YAB (Youth Activity Building) for registration. To protect you and others against COVID, we are required by Bonclarken to check the temperatures of all attendees on either Thursday (for leaders portion) or Friday (for singles portion) or if you are arriving on Saturday and Sunday for the first time.
FIRST STEP: TEMP CHECK
Go to Tent #1 for a temperature check. If you do have 100.4 for higher temperature, unfortunately, you will not be able to enter the building unless you:
• Take a self-administering 15-minute results COVID test we will provide, and it produces negative results.
• OR you go to CVS/Walgreens/Urgent Care, etc., and get a test and provide negative results (you will need to go on their websites to see the closest location and time available.
• OR purchase your own COVID test and provide negative results.
SECOND STEP: RESULTS
• If Negative: You will be directed to Tent #2 and then registration.
• If Positive: Unfortunately, you will not be able to join us for the weekend (as well as anyone who may have ridden with you as they have been exposed). However, Bonclarken has generously agreed to provide a free hotel room for one night in quarantine till you can make arrangements to leave the campus/travel home. We will take into consideration each situation in regard to any available financial compensation as well as any/all roommates that were exposed to you.

We have also gone above & beyond the required safety measures by:
- Taking temperatures before entering our buildings/registration on Thursday for leaders portion and Friday for singles portion.
- Asking everyone to use their own pens, water bottles, and lawn chairs (when outside) to reduce cross-contamination.
- Adding more tables with fewer chairs and spreading them farther apart in our main meeting area
- Utilizing more of the common areas/hotel meeting spaces for games/socializing.
- Adding sanitizer stations throughout Bonclarken.
- Spraying sanitizer in meeting rooms prior and in between teaching sessions.
- Pre-packaging our snacks and coffee condiments.
- Reducing indoor meeting times.
- Making changes/adjustments in all others areas of the weekend.
Before joining us, we need you to do something to help everyone be safe:
- 1. Please fill out and sign BOTH (this means there are two separate waivers) online below before arriving.
• https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/611c1c253d94b/web/ (Labor Day Waiver)
• https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/e/YByuDivLoVVjr268tKw27k/ (Bonclarken Campus Waiver) - We suggest you take a free COVID test 3 days prior to your arrival on campus. You can schedule a free appointment at Walgreens.com or CVS.com for a test at one of their locations close to you and/or purchase a rapid response test from them. In the event you have tested positive for COVID, we ask that you stay home. Please contact us at singleslabordayexperience@gmail.com in the event of cancellation.
- We suggest you wear a mask when you are out in public and that you practice personal safety measures.
- Currently, the state of North Carolina does not have a mandatory mask requirement for indoor meetings. However, we anticipate this could change before Labor Day. So please be prepared and plan accordingly. We will keep you posted as we get closer to the retreat. We will have masks available for any who want them, whether it is mandatory or not.
