Lunch & Learn Past Speakers: 2021 List Coming Later in Year

Amy M. Avery, MA. Ed

Lunch & Learn Topic: Social. Smotial. Where do you start, and how do you keep it up?
Amy avery
Description: Social media is simply communicating your messages via the internet using email, text, Facebook, Instagram and other websites and platforms. It can be a cool tool to keep your active singles more active in your church or program; give “outsiders” a glimpse as to what you’re all about, and encourage them to give you a try; and to provide Biblical teaching and encouragement to a targeted audience.  Which types of social media should you use? How often should you push out messages? How do you keep it fresh? Should your posts and messages be public or private? We’ll talk about all this and more. Come ready to share your social media successes and your questions.

Bio: Amy M. Avery, MA.Ed., is a full-time freelance writer and marketing communications specialist working with non-profits in the US and in dozens of foreign countries. She writes blog posts, features, websites, e-newsletters and more. She has a master’s in education/communications theory and an undergrad degree in English/professional communications. She’ll celebrate 15 years in business in 2020. This is her second time coming to the Labor Day Experience, and she’s very excited to be back among friends new and, well, less new!

Carrie Robinson

Lunch & Learn Topic: Being 911 Prepared as a Single
Carrie
Description: No one wants to dwell on the subject but unfortunately it needs to be discussed. I know none of us want to get a call asking you if you are the next of kin of so and so...This lunch and learn will hopefully give you some helpful and necessary information in the event of an emergency involving yourself...”

Bio: Carrie has been a nurse for over 26 years. She is newly married and has a 16 year old son from her former marriage.

Michelle Eigemann, LCSWA

Lunch & Learn Topic: Winning the war within: allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal and heal our soul wounds.
Michelle
Description: Soul wounds are birthed out of sin - our own sin or the sin of another committed against us. Unlike a physical wound which leaves behind a visible scar after healing, soul wounds can’t be seen and remain open making them susceptible to reinjury. These wounds are buried deep within us and often take on characteristics like: fear, abandonment, rejection, depression and jealousy to name a few. However, we were given a healing balm that can seep into our wounds and bind them up; join me as we journey through God’s word and uncover the miraculous healing powers of the Holy Spirit.

Bio: Michelle Eigemann is a licensed Child and Family Therapist located in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. Michelle has experience in the treatment of a variety of mental health diagnoses and uses evidence-based treatment models to assist her clients in behavior modification, emotion-regulation and reframing cognitive distortions. She is passionate about teaching others how to recognize and manage the implications of trauma by teaching Trauma Informed Care classes. She believes that all behavior is a form of communication and feels that asking the question “what happened to you?” instead of “what’s wrong with you?” is the first step in creating a trauma informed environment in our homes, communities and churches.
